LG Righteous Person Award
Former LG Chairman Bon-moo Koo once said, "LG will reward people who sacrifice themselves for the nation and social justice as part of their social responsibility activities". Based on this philosophy, LG established the LG Righteous Person Award in 2015 and has been recognizing righteous citizens and upholding them as role models of society ever since.
Multicultural School of Love with LG
The Multicultural School of Love with LG aims to help children from multicultural families, who may face added difficulties while growing up, find their true identity and achieve their dreams. Together with KAIST and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, LG is helping give children from multicultural families increased opportunities in science and linguistics so that they can grow up to become successful members of society.
Growth Hormone Support for Children with Growth Disorders
Since 1995, LG has provided free treatment to underprivileged children with growth disorders. Through the program, patients who are recommended by pediatric endocrinologists receive the growth hormone 'Eutropin', developed by LG Chem.
LG Hope Community in Ethiopia
LG has been running the 'LG Hope Community' since 2012 to increase agricultural productivity in Ethiopia. By building the infrastructure—such as wells, solar energy, and model farms—required to improve agricultural productivity, and by implementing increased income plans through education–such as for gardening/chicken farming and mill operation—LG is helping local Ethiopians build a self-supporting economy. LG is also providing financial support for war veterans in Ethiopia and scholarships for their descendants.
