On October 19, LGI announced its construction of a CPO mill in Sekadau, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The construction began in June last year and was completed in 16 months. The factory will produce 40,000 tons of CPO yearly. CPO is a vegetable oil that can be extracted from palm fruits by means of pure compression. Its consumption is increasing especially in China, India, and other developing countries. LGI will expand the mill to increase its yearly CPO production to 80,000 tons to stabilize its earnings. It will also secure nearby palm plantations that are currently in operation, in a bid to expand its palm plantation business
