LG Chem is accelerating its penetration into Chinese markets by introducing eco-friendly materials and technologies, such as recyclable plastic, bio-degradable plastic, bio-material based plastic, etc.

LG Chem announced that it will participate in CHINAPLAS 2021, which will be held in Shenzhen, China for four days from the 13th to the 16th, and will actively attract customers by introducing a large number of sustainable ESG products such as ▲ recycled plastic PCR ABS and White PCR PC ▲ degradable plastic PLA made from corn-materials and biodegradable polymer PBAT ▲ Bio-SAP based on bio-materials using glucose extracted from corn, etc. and ▲ Eco-friendly plasticizer without environmental hormones

* PCR ABS: ABS recycled for home appliances and IT internal and external equipment.
PCR PC: A product that recycles PCs used for internal and external equipment, household goods, etc.
SAP : Polymeric material that is mainly used for sanitary products such as diapers and absorbs water 500 times its own weight.
PLA: Resins that are mainly used in disposable packaging materials and are naturally decomposed into vegetable ingredients such as corn.
PBAT: A product used for agricultural and disposable films and rapidly decomposes into oxygen, heat, light and enzyme reactions in nature.

CHINAPLAS is Asia's largest international plastic and rubber industry fair held annually in China, with more than 3,600 global companies from 40 countries attending.

LG Chem will prepare a 400㎡ booth, the largest among South Korean participating companies, and operate three zones (Home Zone, Industry Zone, Mobility Zone) under the theme of ‘Sustainable Life with LG Chem.’

Each zone will be operated with the concept of showing products applied with eco-friendly materials from LG Chem in real life spaces and industrial sites. In the Home Zone, home appliances made with recycled plastic and household goods made from bio-materials are displayed. The Industrial Zone will display welding hoses made from eco-friendly plasticizers and NB latex gloves. Lastly the Mobility Zone will display electrical vehicle materials using engineering plastics

LG Chem will also operate exhibition booths with an eco-friendly 'Paperless Concept' that minimizes paper use by utilizing digital technology.

In addition, digital catalogues that help customers understand each exhibition zone are installed, and details of the displayed products can be shown online by using QR codes.

A separate "DX Zone (Digital Transformation Zone)" is established so that customers can experience through digital screens the entire product purchase process from ordering to production, packaging and delivery. The DX Zone will also have eight lounges where video meetings are available for customers who want to communicate with the headquarters in Korea.

Meanwhile, LG Chem became the first Korean chemical company to enter the Chinese market in 1995 by establishing a production subsidiary in China, and currently operates 15 production and sales subsidiaries, including a Chinese holding company located in Beijing.
