Windsor, February 12, 2026 – NextStar Energy is proud to announce the production of its one-millionth battery cell at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in
Windsor, a major milestone marking the company’s rapid growth.
 
NextStar Energy began commercial cell production in November 2025 and has been scaling growth since. Each battery cell is manufactured through highly specialized
processes, advanced automation, and multi-stage quality verification to ensure performance and reliability standards are met. The facility’s ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF
16949 certifications – international standards for environmental management, workplace health and safety, and automotive-grade quality systems – reinforce its commitment to sustainable operations and a safe and supported workforce.

It was recently announced that LG Energy Solution will acquire full ownership of NextStar Energy, with Stellantis remaining a committed customer. Under the new ownership
structure, NextStar Energy will leverage LG Energy Solution’s technological leadership and global operational expertise to better serve a broader customer base, including the Energy
Storage System (ESS) industry, and respond with greater agility to market conditions and demand to pursue future growth opportunities.
 
Production of ESS battery cells at NextStar Energy will continue accelerating through 2026, strengthening Canada’s growing role as a key player in global energy storage innovation.
