SEOUL, Sep. 7, 2026 ― LG Electronics (LG) has expanded the availability of its ThinQ™ UP service for residential air conditioners (RACs) from six European countries to 37.1 The expansion enables more LG RAC customers to access software upgrades that enhance product value and deliver a more personalized user experience.
Continuously Evolving Air Conditioner Experience
ThinQ UP allows customers to download and install new software features for their air conditioner through the LG ThinQ app.2 The service expands product capabilities by offering downloadable features through the LG ThinQ app, helping provide a personalized user experience tailored to each customer’s individual lifestyle, needs and preferences. ThinQ UP is already available for 16 LG RAC models, including the ARTCOOL™ Gallery Premium, ARTCOOL AI Mirror and DUALCOOL™ AI series.3
Delivering New Features Tailored to Customers’ Lifestyles
ThinQ UP will continue to offer new software updates reflecting customers’ evolving lifestyles and seasonal needs. Start/End Sound can be downloaded now on all 16 ThinQ UP-enabled RAC models, while additional features, such as Energy Saving Mode and Fireplace Mode, are planned for the ARTCOOL and DUALCOOL AI models. Energy Saving Mode makes home energy management more convenient, letting users simultaneously activate or switch off the Energy Saving feature across compatible LG appliances, including air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators and washing machines. Designed with winter in mind, Fireplace Mode helps the air conditioner stop heating and the fan continues to rotate to distribute warm air from fireplaces and other heat sources throughout the room when the indoor temperature reaches the set temperature.
The ARTCOOL Gallery Premium model will receive special multimedia enhancements via ThinQ UP. Bluetooth Share will allow users to transfer photos and videos from their smart devices directly to the ARTCOOL Gallery Premium ― where they can be displayed using the Gallery and Video Player features ― while Bluetooth Speaker will let them stream music through the air conditioner’s built-in speaker. Another upcoming update will enable users to set transferred images as wallpapers.4
By introducing new software features, LG is elevating product value post purchase and expanding the role of RACs beyond temperature control, creating smarter and more personalized living experiences for customers across Europe and around the world.
Recognized by Leading European Consumer Organizations
LG’s ThinQ UP-enabled RACs have earned recognition from leading European consumer organizations for their strong, dependable performance and market competitiveness. In April, the DUALCOOL AI Deluxe received Miglior Acquisto (Best Buy) label from Italian consumer organization Altroconsumo, based on the results of an independent comparative test. The product line also earned recognition in Portugal, where the 9,000 BTU model was named Melhor do Teste (Best in Test) by DECO Proteste.5
“By expanding ThinQ UP across Europe, LG is enabling more customers to continuously enhance their air conditioners with new software features post-purchase,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “We will continue delivering personalized innovations that create lasting customer value and further strengthen our competitiveness in the European residential air conditioner market.”
