Toronto, ON ― 22 September 2026 ― NextStar Energy has been recognized with the Energy Storage Milestone Award following the grand opening of its state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario. The award, presented by Energy Storage Canada at its annual conference in Toronto, is to honour the company’s milestone achievement as the first and only commercial-scale battery in Canada, advancing energy storage manufacturing in Canada.
 
“This award is a tremendous recognition of what our team has accomplished in such a short time,” said Danies Lee, Chief Executive Officer of NextStar Energy. “The grand opening of our Windsor facility was the culmination of hard work, dedication and ambition in the face of a changing industry. While this is an important milestone, it is only the beginning: we are committed to Canada and proud to be building advanced battery solutions here in Ontario.”

NextStar Energy’s facility is a cornerstone of Canada’s advanced manufacturing and cleanenergy sector, anchoring domestic battery production, strengthening North America’s battery supply chain and supporting Canada’s long-term industrial competitiveness. More than $5 billion CAD has been invested in the facility to date. More than 1,300 team members are employed at NextStar Energy with a long-term target of 2,500 employees as it scales to full production.
