LG Electronics’ proprietary security solution ‘Guest Mode’ has completed the patent registration process with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office. LG Electronics began the patent registration process in 2012 for the technology in major markets (U.S., Europe, and Korea) and currently in the process of finalizing the registration. On ‘Guest Mode’ users are able to use their single smartphone as if they had two, by utilizing two different lock patterns. For example, a user is restricted to have access to private information such as photos and text messages and is only allowed to use limited apps. Even when a text message arrives, it is not displayed while the device is on Guest Mode. Users may also use ‘Guest Mode’ on their children by allowing only necessary apps to work under the mode. LG Electronics plans to keep introducing differentiated and convenient UX features to provide intuitive user experience.
