LG Chem developed the world’s first OLED light panel with high luminous efficacy and long-lasting performance that can compete with LED lights.  Its OLED light panel has an efficacy rate of 100 lumens per watt and durability that lasts up to about 40,000 hours. Despite the fact that fluorescent lights have the same luminous efficacy as OLED lights, they last only about 20,000hours. OLED lights do not have hazardous heavy metal components such as mercury and lead making it more environmentally-friendly than LEDs.  LG Chem will start offering its panels to the global market beginning in November, mostly targeting consumers in North America and Europe. LG Chem also has already secured partnerships with over 50 companies including North America’s largest lighting company Acuity. LG Chem will strength its position by providing consumers with differentiated technologies.
