LG Hausys’ auto skin received Class 1 from the Europe’s Oeko-tex Standard 100, an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials and products. The rating is given to a product deemed safe for babies 2 years or younger. LG Hausys’ PVC for vehicle seats received Class 1 rating because it does not contain phthalate plasticize, one of the chemical compounds suspected as environmental hormones, ensuring that the product is safe and harmless for human body. LG Hausys became Korea’s first and the world’s second auto skin manufacturer to receive Class 1 rating by the Oeko-tex Standard 100. As people spend more and more time in their cars, LG Hausys has consistently worked on developing auto skins that do not cause skin troubles despite long exposures and are safe enough for babies and toddlers. LG Hausys’ effort toward environment-friendly and safe materials paid off with the certification.
